This week, a monday meeting.

And finally, a place that truly rocks!

Literally. Balsta is a former hospital which (during the 1980s was transformed into a...well, I don´t know the english word for it, but it is place where young people go to play/create/experiment with music (the term "music" is used in its broadest sense). Quite noisy, from time to time... and why do they all the youngsters to have so long hair? And their clothes??? Somebody should tell them to behave properly ...

Also, there is a café and a recording studio. Björn is eager to tell everybody about his short (but intense) music career during the late 80:s when he had a little bit more hair, by the way.

The summer vacation has started – for Sven and Lasse, anyway. Björn is still at work. More or less.

However, Sven and Björn met in Stadsparken (the city park) to accomplish the USK-mission to sketch the restaurant/café called "Pramen". Pramen will be demolished this autumn.

This tuesday we had it perfect weather again, so we went outside to do some sketching in Eskilstuna. . And today, we were accompanied by our colleague, Hans Henningsson. Quite a character (as depicted in this image by Björns lousy pen...sorry, Hans!)

Final exams!

This tuesday, we were all occupied with the final exams, i.e the final exams of our students.
However, we decided to do some sketching while watching the presentations etc.

Sunny tuesday!
We took our equipment outside, to a park close by.
Sven had bought himself another chair, since the last one wasn´t good for his legs. Poor Sven!

However, we sat down in the park and tried ignoring the screaming and playing of the thousand kindergarten kids. Poor us!

Summer, at last!

Finally, the summer arrived!
Unfortunately, that was yesterday. Today, the weather is as lousy as always.
And once again, we chose to stay inside. This time in one of our lecture halls (L 3115).

The view from L 3115 is quite nice, and also, it is rather close to our café.

Lasse had gone away to Menorca (for a conference....he said). Jenny, Åsa and Karl were all occupied elsewhere, so Sven and Björn had to manage on their own. It worked just fine.

Björn's image. This time I used my everyting-at-once-technique. It seldom works out fine. Still, I managed to complete it and a really good coffee afterwards. Life is great!

The spring went away...

...and we went inside, yet again.
This time to one of our local coffee places, the espresso house.

USK-ESK welcomes spring!

Yes, it was about time for us to come out. Out from the inside, that is. Something intensely yellow lit up the sky. We will google later, in order to be sure (Sun???)

Well, this tuesday we went close to the city museum (Stadsmuseet), not as close as we wanted, due to the fact that the iron gate was closed. Literally closed. And locked. Maybe they knew we were coming?

However, because of the sunny weather we did not cry at all - instead we started sketching like we had never sketched before!

And of course, afterwards, we had some fika (i.e coffee and cake) at the café in the library.

Land of Bergman...

The weather is still lousy, we´ve tried to kick start our deep frozen souls by watching clips from old Ingmar Bergman movies on youtube. Unfortunately, this did not work.

Do you play chess?

Instead, we went to our city library once again to do some sketching.

Sven's image shows a girl studying and doing stretching at the same time. Girls are said to be able to several things at once. Obviously, this is true.

Björn had a hard time trying to keep the book worm out of his picture. He did not succeed. This reminded him a lot of this annoying bird (shown on christmas eve in Sweden, for some reason).

The library

It was a bit stormy this tuesday and we ran for cover in the library of Mälardalens högskola (i.e Mälardalen university college). Lasse stayed in the entrance and Sven and Björn went to the reading rooms. Björn beeing a quiet person, of course went to the quiet room.
